A new season is upon us! September 1st has arrived, evoking those start of school, crisp mornings, soon to be sweater weather vibes. Labor Day has come, bookending the close of summer. We've (thankfully) been having cooler mornings lately in SD and the local coffee shops are officially serving up their fall drink menu (yes, I've already tried a pumpkin spice latte). And a new moon is debuting tonight!
All in all, the universe is giving major transition vibes. I've been thinking about some ways I can gear up (energetically) for the new season. Small things I can do to better myself. I think each season offers something new; I am not the same person I was going into the summer as I am going into this fall. I've grown a bit more and have a slightly different perspective on life. And there's certainly some things I can modify a bit to enter the season feeling even better.
In this article, I'll list some things I'm thinking of recalibrating this fall. Things that I think will make me feel incrementally better and inch me toward my best, authentic self :)

Ways I'm Recalibrating This Fall:
(In no particular order)
Add in extra 0.5-1.0 miles to my morning run. Banking on cooler mornings and thinking how nice it will be to run in.
Start a sinking fund for holiday gifts (savings account dedicated to holiday shopping). We're in the last few months of the year and I know December will come fast. Best to set aside some $$ ahead of time.
Take it easy on the ice cream lol. Admittedly, I've had my fair share this summer, which is no bueno...yet very bueno... (latest fav: Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough). Ugh, why is ice cream so good?!
Longer walks with Olive girl (my pup). She's getting older now and can prob go an extra 10-15 minutes or so on our walks now. Am preparing her for eventual runs with me.
Visit the mountains for a hike or day trip. Always nice to get into nature and outta the city for a bit. Plus there's some great cider and apple pie out in Julian, near SD.
Switch to fall vibes nail polish :) A small but fun energy shift.
Get Olive new fall bandanas.
Start back up with a set writing schedule each day. I've swayed from this over the past few months and want to be more diligent with my writing routine. Gotta build it into my daily habits.
Learn some new recipes. I tend to stick to my old faithful salads in the summer, but would be good to add in something new this season.
Bless and release what no longer serves me from prior seasons and welcome in new, fresh energy, ripe with opportunity.
These are just a few things I can do to recalibrate this season. The older I get, the more I realize how important good habits and continual growth is. They can do wonders to creating a rich life.
Thanks for reading! And I wish you the very best new season. Will you be recalibrating?
